Hello, and welcome to State of the State.
State of the State is a one-stop shop for the statehouse reporting of Ogden Newspaper’s five daily newspapers by Steven Allen Adams, the state government reporter for The Parkersburg News and Sentinel.
Adams’ focus is on coverage of the statehouse; in-depth writing on topics ranging from public policy, legislation, and investigative reporting; and his weekly column, where he provides analysis on the politics behind the policies.
State of the State will also soon be home to a weekly podcast, where Adams will interview state government leaders, lawmakers, public policy experts, and others. Look for the State of the State podcast on iTunes and Stitcher starting January 2019.
Adams has nearly a decade of experience as a journalist, starting his career at the Ogden-owned Parkersburg News and Sentinel in 2002 and also covering Tyler County government for Ogden’s Tyler Star News. Adams’ journalism career spans print, radio, television, and new media. His work has appeared across West Virginia and has been cited by dozens of national news outlets, including CNN, Reuters, The Washington Post, The Washington Examiner, the Associated Press, and more.
